Trevor Bowles is a retired Detective Chief Inspector who led a murder team for five years.  He also worked as a hostage negotiator for 14 years, a role which brought him into contact with many people in crisis and contemplating suicide. 

During his career, he was a Senior Investigating Officer for five years, leading investigations into 16 homicides and other serious crimes, including many rape and kidnap investigations. Trevor’s wide experience covers the whole spectrum of policing, and he has a wealth of fascinating insights and information to share with his audience. 

He retired as a police officer in 2012, but continues to work with the force in a role which has responsibility for the accuracy of recorded crime figures.
