featuring Poppy McGhee

Saturday 11th May, 7:30pm, in St Mary's Church Wedmore BS28 4AA

The Somerset Choral Society is a choir of around 50 voices, formed 30 years ago and firmly established in our area. The choir is well-known to Wedmore audiences, and the Festival is delighted to welcome them as part of our 2019 programme.

We are also honoured to welcome back Poppy McGhee, the talented young violinist who has created a sensation throughout Somerset, and nationwide. The Choir’s Festival performance will feature Vaughan-Williams’ Five Mystical Songs plus music by Brahms and Fauré, all conducted by Edward Goater, with Alison Blundell (piano), the Somerset Choral Society Players and Craig Bissex (baritone).

Poppy will play a selection including works by Prokofiev, Elgar and Brahms with Matthew Redman (piano).
