On Sunday 12th May, Richard is bringing his sell-out show, ‘Sinatra and Me’ to the Wedmore Arts Festival for one night only. He's performing at New York’s Lincoln Center on Friday 10th May and will be returning especially for this concert.
In a show which charts his remarkable journey with Frank Sinatra, Richard will be wearing ‘Ol’ Blue Eyes’ very own tuxedo, singing the hits and bringing stories of incredible synchronicity which has accompanied him, including tales of performing for HRH Prince Charles at Windsor Castle. ‘Sinatra and Me’ has played to sell-out audiences in London, LA, San Diego, New York, Palm Springs and the Edinburgh Festival.
It’s not every day Frank Sinatra’s tuxedo walks into Wedmore, Somerset! But that’s exactly what’s happening when ‘solo-powerhouse’ actor and singer, Richard Shelton - widely acknowledged as the world’s most critically acclaimed interpreter of Frank Sinatra arrives - at the Wedmore Arts Festival on Sunday 12th May.★★★★★ Richard Shelton as Sinatra is quite simply phenomenal -
Mike Young, BBC (Rat Pack Confidential).
From Emmerdale’s charmingly murderous Dr Adam Forysthe, all the way to his multi-award nominated performances as Frank Sinatra in two hard-hitting dramas: ‘Rat Pack Confidential’ and ‘Sinatra: RAW’ (written by Shelton) in London’s West End, he’s come a very long way.
Originally from Wolverhampton, Shelton, who also wrote and performed in 'Sinatra: Raw', is one of the world’s most acclaimed Sinatra interpreters. Originally cast as Sinatra in the hard-hitting drama, ‘Rat Pack Confidential’ in the West End, his gritty portrayal of the icon won him a ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ nomination from the Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards and for ‘Sinatra: RAW’, a ‘Best Actor in a Musical’ award from the Off West End Theatre Awards and international acclaim. Richard has since performed for British and European royalty, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, for Sir Elton John and on TV and in movies including ‘I Capture the Castle’ and ‘My Week with Marilyn’.
Richard fulfilled another dream and moved to LA where he worked alongside Sinatra’s musicians and produced and starred in ‘A Very Good Year’, celebrating Sinatra’s centenary. They joined him again on recording his debut US album, 'Lost and Found’ at LA’s famed Capitol Studios, due for release in September 2019.
Now resident in LA Richard is a regular on American TV screens in, 'Jane the Virgin’ and ‘House of Lies’.
